Publishing and Promoting Your eBook
You've chosen a subject. Now it's time to write it.
Not an expert writer? Not a problem. There are several methods for learning how to format an effective eBook that will keep your customers happy. One method is to first interview others on the subject of your eBook. What kind of things do they want to they want to learn about on your chosen subject?
The size of your sampling ought to be pretty big. Use the web to your advantage. Ask at discussion boards and chat rooms. Sample your friends and family.
Once you've got the biggest issues people are seeking knowledge on, write your table of contents in a logical order. Once you know what each chapter will be addressing, it will make it much easier to write the book. Your table of contents will act as a kind of "road map".
I generally recommend publishing eBooks in Portable Document File (PDF) format. PDF's are a universally accepted file format, and will ensure that the largest audience will be able to read your eBook.
You can use Adobe Acrobat to convert just about any document to a PDF. If you don't already have Acrobat, you might experience a little sticker shock when you go out to purchase it. Acrobat is a $450 piece of software.
If you're unable or unwilling to drop $450 on Adobe Acrobat, there are some less expensive – even free – PDF converters out there if you look hard enough. They will be much less powerful, but they're enough to at least get you started.
After "publishing" your eBook, send copies to several people for proof reading and constructive feedback.

Promoting Your eBook
You've written your eBook. You've published your eBook. People aren't going to just come to your website in droves now just because you have an eBook. Don't have a website? Then get one!
Marketing is what drives business. If you don't effectively promote your new eBook, you'll never sell a single copy.
One of the fastest ways to get some copies sold is through eZine advertising. Indeed, I have found it to be one of the most effective methods of promoting my own eBooks. With a single ad in a single eZine, I once made over $800 in sales.
Pay-per-click search engines are also useful.
Also, one of the most important things you can do to increase sales of your eBook is to start up an affiliate program. By having others promote your eBook for you, you can actually make money without any effort. Your affiliates will do all the work for you!
